My first pop-up art market: sold out
Two days. One table. A world I've been building for years. On 26–27 September, I opened my very first pop-up art market booth at Semarang IP-Fest 2026, BINUS University Semarang. I brought Friedenia Saga, my original IP, out from my Google Drive and sketchbooks and put it in front of real people for the first time. What surprised me most wasn't the sales. It was the conversations. People stopped, picked up a book, asked "so what's this world about?", and stayed to listen. I got to tell the story of Friedenia again and again, and every time someone leaned in, it reminded me why I started this project in the first place. And yes, the numbers were kind to a first-timer: 📚 Every book I brought sold out ✨ Sticker packs and art prints moved really well A few things I'm taking home: 1. An original IP grows when people can hold it. A PDF can't do what a physical book on a table does. 2. Storytelling sells better than any sales pitch. People buy into a world before they buy the merch. 3. Showing up in person builds a kind of trust that social media alone can't. Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by, listened, and took a piece of Friedenia home with them. And thank you to the IP-Fest organizers for the space. This was only the first one. I can't wait to do more IRL events like this. 🗡️ If you're organizing an art market, convention, or creative event and want an original fantasy IP on the floor, let's talk.
