The idea

Morgoth, tense and lethal with his daggers drawn, offered no comforting lies to soothe the Warlock's fractured trust. He gave Ouroboros the brutal, unapologetic truth of an assassin, stating that if he had killed them, he would wear it as a badge, but he simply did not remember the massacre. Refusing to let the warlock be manipulated by the dark forces watching them, Morgoth challenged Ouroboros to a fair fight between just the two of them, rather than acting as a puppet for a devil.
